Policy decisions are informed by a range of evidence and stakeholder perspectives, and where significant changes to health services are being considered, it is standard practice to engage with relevant stakeholders, including medical professional bodies where appropriate. The views expressed through such engagement form an important part of the information considered alongside other evidence.
