The Welsh Government recognises the significance of the Newport Medieval Ship and the important contribution it can make to our understanding of Wales’s maritime history.
Conservation of the ship timbers was initially supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and has since been taken forward through mainstream funding from Newport City Council, with valuable support from the Friends of Newport Ship.
