Our Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy has been informed and shaped by the voices of the people with lived experience. It outlines our long-term vision and our priorities for the next three years are included in the accompanying delivery plan.

This includes supporting a national psychological interventions programme with consistent evidence-based national psychological interventions, the skilled and flexible workforce to deliver psychological interventions and an expanded digital therapies offer. We have already established digital access to cognitive behaviour therapy.

Broader work to support this agenda includes:

  • Publication of a mental health data and digital delivery plan, supported by Digital Health and Care Wales which sits alongside the strategy.
  • Implementation of the Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) and Social Care Wales Strategic Mental Health Workforce Plan, which will address workforce shortages and build sustainability.
