The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS), managed by Digital Health and Care Wales, is enhancing the way medicines are prescribed, dispensed, and administered across Wales. It is making these processes safer, more efficient, and more convenient for both patients and healthcare professionals.
EPS is being introduced in phases, with full rollout to all communities in Wales expected by September 2027.
Since its launch in November 2023, the service has already gone live in over 60% of community pharmacies and over 4.6 million prescription items have been successfully dispensed electronically.
