The UK Levelling-Up Fund is a legacy programme of the 2019-2024 UK Government which established the Fund in Wales using the financial assistance powers of the UK Internal Market Act. As a result, the Welsh Government has no management or governance role in this Fund.
Regeneration is a devolved matter and the Welsh Government is supporting Denbighshire County Council in the development of a Placemaking Plan for Rhyl to ensure investments in Rhyl are coordinated and maximised.
This includes co-ordinating investments with our Transforming Towns programme, which is investing more than £20m within Rhyl Town Centre involving the Queen’s Market, remodelling town centre housing to provide energy efficient family homes, redeveloping small business spaces and renovating the former Post Office on Wellington Road to provide retail and residential units.
