The funding we are providing through the Euro 2025 Partner Support Fund will deliver a broad range of projects and activities across the sport, culture and creative sectors to promote Wales and women’s sport, and project our values as a nation of diversity, equality and inclusion. We have allocated funding of £1m to 16 organisations.

The application from Bath University was submitted by Dr. Penny Miles, an Academic Researcher and FAW Equality Advisory Group Member, on behalf of Grange Pavillion Youth Forum (GPYF) in Cardiff. The £14,000 grant will be paid to the GPYF, who will deliver the project activities, which include football sessions at local primary schools and Grange Pavilion, the promotion of accessible football teams and training, screening Cymru’s first Euro 2025 match, the creation of fan merchandise in hijabs & bucket hats and a promotional campaign around global majority inclusion in Welsh football. Dr. Miles will provide in-kind project monitoring and evaluation support for the project, which will be a collaboration between GPYF, Iby World Ltd. and Creative Circle CIC.

The £150,000 grant to S4C will support the national broadcaster on an ambitious project in Switzerland to promote Wales and the Welsh language during the Euro 2025 Championship. The project will deliver a location for fans in Switzerland to come together to promote and celebrate Wales, and to host a corporate and cultural event on the day before the first game of the championship. It will also nurture female talent in sports broadcasting by offering support, training, and work experience opportunities by working with S4C’s strong connections in the television sector and beyond.
