Pa asesiad y mae'r Ysgrifennydd Cabinet wedi'i wneud o'r rhesymau pam roedd trenau a oedd yn gadael neu'n cyrraedd Caerdydd ar 15 Mawrth 2025 yn llawn, gyda lle i sefyll yn unig, a'r effaith a gafodd hynny?

The proximity of the Principality Stadium to Cardiff Central Station means that after a rugby international passengers do have to queue outside the station before boarding a train. It simply would not be safe to allow everyone who wants to travel to immediately access the platforms. This was the case on 15 March 2025 with Transport for Wales safely accommodating over 75,000 passengers through Cardiff Central station.

Although having to queue for a train home after an event, and traveling on full trains is not ideal, it is not a situation that is unique to major events in Cardiff. The challenges of managing 1000s of passengers all wanting to travel at the same time before and after an event happens in all major cities in the UK.

Unfortunately, on 15 March Great Western Railway services were disrupted due to a fatality on the line near Reading. This sad incident did cause some delays for passengers wishing to travel to Bristol, Reading and London after the event.
