Pa asesiad sydd wedi'i wneud o'r potensial ar gyfer gosod paneli solar ar adeiladau'r sector cyhoeddus, fel ysgolion, ysbytai, a swyddfeydd y cyngor, i leihau dibyniaeth ar ddatblygiadau solar ar y llawr?
The Welsh Government Energy Service supports renewable energy and energy efficiency schemes. It helps public sector organisations assess the benefit of decarbonising their estates including installing solar panels on public sector buildings. The Wales Funding Programme provides low interest loans to fund the installation of roof-top solar among other technologies.
We also welcome the additional £3m funding from the UK Government as a result of the activity to be taken forward by Great British Energy in England. This additional funding will mean we can deliver more energy security and value for people, through our Wales Funding Programme. Working with Great British Energy will allow us to speed up delivery across our communities, similar to the support we provided to Morriston Hospital to develop its own solar farm, through the Welsh Government Energy Service.
Over 400 projects have been supported to date, including many examples of solar PV in hospitals, schools and other public sector buildings. The renewable energy projects have introduced 44.5MW of new capacity, equivalent to enough electricity to power 18,000 homes.
