This week the Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs launched the consultation for Growing the Timber Industry in Wales ahead of publishing the Timber Industry Strategy later this year. The strategy has been developed collaboratively, on a cross-Government basis.
The Tai ar y Cyd pattern book that was launched on the 15 January focuses on ensuring sustainable, affordable homes are built using sustainably sourced timber. The pattern book will generate a reliable and visible pipeline for Welsh timber and encourage the forestry sector to grow more Welsh timber in future.
