Welsh Government funding for the arts is channelled through the Arts Council of Wales (ACW) who operate at arm’s length from Government, although within the strategic framework that we provide.
ACW supports several organisations who undertake community focussed arts activity, including theatre and music. For 2024-25, £2.3m of ACW’s multi-year funding offer will go directly to Community Arts, although many of ACW’s other core-funded organisations also include community arts in their work. Community theatre groups can also apply directly to ACW’s ‘Create’ National Lottery Arts Funding Programme.
