Our approach to supporting the tourism industry is publicly available. It is outlined in Welcome to Wales: Priorities for the Visitor Economy 2020-2025.
Visit Wales supports the tourism industry by marketing Wales as a destination at home and abroad. Throughout the year they showcase Wales’ outstanding tourism businesses and destinations through targeted campaigns, a wide range of web and social media content, and PR and media activity, often delivered with stakeholder partners.
Financial support for the tourism sector is provided through our main capital investment funds, the Wales Tourism Investment Fund (WTIF) and Brilliant Basics. The funds aim to grow the sector and Welsh economy and ensure visitors have a positive and memorable experience.
We engage with the sector regularly, through our Visitor Economy Forum and the Regional Tourism Fora. We listen to the views of the industry, through these and many other sector meetings which take place throughout the year.
