In line with our prudent healthcare principles, older people are not called for routine health checks, instead targeted health checks are offered to specific higher risk groups. Anyone with any individual health concerns should discuss these with their GP.
However, it is important that people over 75 are aware of their entitlement to request a consultation with their GP if it has been a year since they last had an appointment. This is set out in Paragraph 9, Part 1 of Schedule 3 of The National Health Service (General Medical Services Contracts) (Wales) Regulations 2023.
