Effective governance is the responsibility of individual housing association Boards and executives.
The Regulatory Framework for Housing Associations in Wales contains a series of statutory regulatory standards, including in relation to governance, which all housing associations must comply with. Compliance with the standards is subject to periodic assessment and results in the publication of a regulatory judgement setting out the regulator’s current view of Governance (including services) and financial viability. A judgement also identifies where improvements to governance or other aspects of regulatory compliance are required.
