Sut y mae Llywodraeth Cymru yn rhoi cefnogaeth ariannol i greu amgueddfeydd neu arddangosfeydd treftadaeth mewn mannau sy'n eiddo i awdurdodau lleol, fel llyfrgelloedd?

The funding of museums, heritage displays and libraries owned by local authorities is a matter for the local authority itself and the decisions it takes to allocate its un-hypothecated budget settlement.  Welsh Government does not core-revenue fund any non-National museum and ordinarily does not fund the creation of new museums. Heritage displays which are part of a larger town centre project could be eligible for Welsh Government funding through the Transforming Towns programme.

Welsh Government acts as the sector development agency for the local museum sector in Wales.  Through this role we offer support to existing museums who are taking part in the Museum Accreditation Scheme in terms of training, advice via specialist advisers, funding of sector support organisations to undertake projects and programmes of benefit to the sector, and capital grants.  There are a number of Accredited Museums that are physically sited in libraries.
