The Welsh Government recognises that businesses and other ratepayers are continuing to experience pressures in the current economic climate. We are, therefore, providing a package of additional non-domestic rates support worth £134m this year, including £78 million to provide a fifth successive year of relief for retail, leisure and hospitality businesses. Full details are provided in the written statement available at the following link: https://www.gov.wales/written-statement-non-domestic-rates-support-2024-25

Our relief for retail, leisure and hospitality does not exist by default and was never intended to continue indefinitely. The decision to provide additional support is intended to help thousands of businesses in Wales, including grassroots music venues, to continue their recovery from the impact of economic challenges they have faced over recent years.

This is in addition to our permanent reliefs worth £250m annually and the considerable additional support we have provided to businesses and other ratepayers over recent years. Many grassroots music venues benefit from our permanent Small Business Rates Relief.
