The Wales Metaverse is a six-month trial to test reach to wider audience bases, complementing Visit Wales core digital activity. All results will be shared with stakeholders and industry.

In terms of promotional spend, the Wales Metaverse will be promoted as part of Visit Wales’ regular digital campaign activity. That spend (including £1000 on Roblox) will equate to £27k over the following months. The digital marketing activity drives potential visitors to the VW website to encourage holiday planning. The main Metaverse entry point is “housed” on the site, where visitors can also be inspired by the widest range of information around visiting Wales “in real life”.

The work was commissioned by Visit Wales and delivered by a company based in Wales, but I cannot disclose, due to commercial confidentiality, a detailed breakdown of costs attributable to the development. However, in total i.e. technical development, licence fees and hosting, the project has been delivered for less than £16,000.
