Beth yw cynllun gweithredu’r Ysgrifennydd Cabinet i sicrhau na fydd y llifogydd rhwng Porth a Threherbert, sy’n rhwystro pob llinell rheilffordd, yn parhau pan fydd tywydd mwy eithafol yn ystod misoedd y gaeaf?

I regularly meet with the Chair and Chief Executive of Transport for Wales where we discuss a range of issues including extreme weather resilience and response, such as flooding events.

TfW utilise a network of weather stations and have extensive service recovery in place with industry partners to react to incidents on the Core Valley Lines. This enabled a rapid response to the recent flooding between Port and Treherbert, with rail services returning to safe operation in under two hours. Enhanced monitoring and mitigation are now in place for this line, alongside a wider drainage review across the Core Valley Lines.
