I am aware that some UK universities are offering two-year intensive degree courses. In Wales, such courses have been offered in the past, but I am not aware of any currently available.

The total tuition fees for these courses would be the same as a three-year course but spread across the two years. Eligible students can apply for a tuition fee loan of up to £9,250 a year, and maintenance support as a mix of grant and loan. The current student support regulations do not make provision to offer an increased annual fee loan amount for these courses and there are currently no plans to amend this.

As autonomous institutions, universities are responsible for how they deliver their courses, in line with their strategic plans. Consideration of two-year degrees would likely take account of workload, timetabling, support services and funding and would need to be considered in the context of the wider activity of the University.
