The Welsh Government does not collect information aggregating the impact of transfer of non-statutory services or assets to other bodies such as community and town councils.

It is for principal councils, working with community and town councils, to agree what non-statutory services or assets might be transferred. As part of the due diligence for the transfer, they will take account of the benefits and risks.

Community Asset Transfers can be an important way of helping communities to own and manage facilities that might otherwise be reduced or ended.  They can also be a way of delivering positive social, economic and environmental change.

Guidance on Community Asset Transfer, Due Diligence, and Case Studies are available on the Welsh Government’s website.
