The Welsh Government provides grant funding to the Books Council of Wales to support schools and library services across Wales participating in World Book Day, should they choose to. Children in Wales provides resources and support to schools to reduce the cost of the school day and remove barriers to participation.
The School Essentials Grant goes direct to families to reduce the worry surrounding the purchase of school clothing and equipment, enabling children to attend school and take part in activities at the same level as their peers.
