We expect schools and education settings to have contingency plans in place for extreme weather, in line with the guidance for schools and settings on what to consider during such periods, and to communicate their decisions clearly and promptly to parents, staff and the public.
The guidance, part of a suite of emergency planning and response guidance for education and childcare settings, is published online and periodically reviewed and updated.
