The Welsh Government continues to provide significant funding to promote culture and the arts in north Wales.
The Welsh Government, through its Programme for Government, is making a number of investments in north Wales including major capital projects such as
the redevelopment of Theatr Clwyd amounting to an investment of £23.5m; the Football Museum for Wales with £6.27m having been committed; and
the redevelopment of the National Slate Museum with up to £2.5m being made available as a contribution to the costs.
Welsh Government funding for the arts is channelled through the Arts Council of Wales (ACW) and a number of initiatives to promote the arts in north Wales are being supported. This includes support for the arts, health and wellbeing agenda at the Betsi Cadwaldr University Health Board; activity targeting school pupils through the Creative Learning Through the Arts programme; Wales Arts International (WAI) is welcoming a delegation of visual arts curators from Brittany and representatives from the Regional Council of Brittany and the Institut Francais to Mostyn in February 2024, and WAI will be hosting the annual On The Move Cultural Mobility Forum in Caernarfon in April.
