The Welsh Government offers an incentive to attract student teachers into initial teacher education with certain subject specialisms, including Maths.
The Welsh Government has also committed to continue our support for the Part-time PGCE and Salaried PGCE, which include Maths as a subject specialism, for new student teachers in both academic year 2024/25 and academic year 2025/26. The alternative ITE routes enable those unable to undertake full-time ITE to access the teaching profession.
