Following the fall of the Kept Animals Bill in May 2023, my Officials are working closely with DEFRA to investigate how this all-important provision can be progressed.
The issue was also raised at the multi-agency Summit that I held on responsible ownership on 18 October, the outcomes of which were provided in my written statement of 6 December. I plan to hold a follow up session early in the year to discuss further.
