Since the pandemic £2.58 million was made available to the whole education sector for carbon dioxide monitors.  This has provided a carbon dioxide sensor for every teaching room in Wales to assist in the management of ventilation and improvement of air quality.

£3.31 million was allocated for ventilation improvements across the education sector of which £2.24 million was issued to local authorities for schools.

A further £50 million for capital maintenance and improvements was allocated to local authorities which could be used towards health and safety, including ventilation improvements, in accordance with local risk assessment and Covid-19 control framework should they need additional funding over-and-above their ventilation grant allocation.

The Welsh Government provides guidance on use of carbon monoxide monitors to assist in the management and improve ventilation in education settings.
