The Welsh Government is committed to making Wales a Nation of Sanctuary.
We believe strongly in the benefits which migration brings to Wales and we work to support integration of migrants with their host communities as soon as possible.
We provide a variety of services to help refugees integrate into our local communities in Wales including a community cohesion programme that supports sanctuary seekers to integrate effectively in their new communities in Wales. We also provide the Sanctuary website to enable new arrivals to learn about Wales and orientate themselves to Welsh systems. We fund the Wales Sanctuary Service to ensure individuals can access advice and advocacy support when they need it and also provide a broad range of interventions and inclusive policies as a result of the actions taken in line with our Nation of Sanctuary Plan.
