Wales is facing the toughest financial situation since the start of devolution. We’ve had to take some really difficult decisions to radically reshape our budget to focus funding on the services which matter most to the people of Wales.

Within the draft budget, we have protected funding for homelessness prevention, providing additional revenue funding of £2m in the Homelessness Support and Prevention budget, which now stands at over £214m. In recognition of the vital importance of housing support services, we have protected the Housing Support Grant within this budget, maintaining it at £166.8m in 2024-25, despite the difficult budgetary position.

Officials will work with the sector, to ensure that the funding across the Homelessness Support and Prevention Budget is utilised in ways that have the greatest preventative impact.
