The Welsh Government is committed to a presence at annual COP climate events. Our presence enables us to continue our vital engagement with like-minded nations, states and regions, through groups such as the Under2Coaltion, Just Transition Taskforce and the Beyond Oil and Gas Alliance.
No decision has yet been made regarding Ministerial representation at COP29. However, regardless of whether Welsh Government’s presence takes the form of Ministerial or official level representation, COP29 will provide an important platform for us to continue our work with other nations and sub-national governments. We will build on commitments made at previous conferences and ratchet up our collective ambition and delivery to keep the aim of limiting global warming to 1.5°C alive.
