We offer a number of funding packages to assist homeowners and landlords to improve their properties.
We have given local authorities nearly £43 million of recyclable funding to provide interest-free property loans for landlords and homeowners for home improvements or to renovate empty properties and bring them back into use. This includes turning commercial properties into houses or flats with landlords able to access loans of up to £35,000 per unit or £250,000 per application.
Our Warm Homes Programme Nest Scheme offers advice on energy use to all households in Wales, as well as free energy efficiency measures for those who are eligible. This year, we are investing more than £30 million to reduce the number of low income households living in cold, damp homes in the owner-occupied and private rented sectors.
Through our Empty Homes Grant Scheme, worth up to £50 million, grants of up to £25,000 are available to owner occupiers or prospective owner occupiers of long-term empty properties to make the properties habitable and to improve their energy efficiency. This work is being carried out in collaboration with Siân Gwenllian, the Plaid Cymru lead designated member, as part of the Co-operation Agreement between the Welsh Government and Plaid Cymru.
