The data requested are not held centrally by Welsh Government. Referral to treatment (RTT) data are available for main specialties – for example trauma and orthopaedics – but not for more specific procedures like knee replacements.

Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) publishes historical data on patients waiting for specific procedures in its annual patient episodes data. The latest ‘principle procedure’ table shows there were a total of 1,799 patients awaiting knee replacement procedures at the end of 2021-22.
