Pa ystyriaeth y mae Llywodraeth Cymru wedi'i rhoi i wneud cyrsiau gloywi yn rhan orfodol o'r broses ailasesu wrth adnewyddu cymhwyster gwaith stryd bob pum mlynedd, fel sy'n digwydd yn Lloegr a'r Alban?

Welsh Government held a consultation on legislative changes to the training and accreditation requirements in 2019 including the introduction of 5 year reassessments. This work was put on hold due covid and then the availability of resources diverted to other Welsh Government priorities.

In September the Department for Transport employed consultants to review the current requirements in England.  Welsh Government officials joined the working group with the DfT to assess any recommendations with a view to consolidating any new changes into a future review of these regulations - Street Works (Qualifications of Supervisors and Operatives) Regulations 1992. This would bring us back in line with England and Scotland. The consultants are due to report back in Spring 2024.
