Creative Wales recognises the importance of supporting indigenous companies to extend their international reach and encourages companies to attend overseas industry markets, events and focused Business Development meetings to promote Welsh content and products. Creative Wales officials pro-actively work with our sector companies to deliver events and visits which best serves the industry needs, to include co-ordinated missions with a number of companies attending and exhibiting at Markets together (GDC) as well as Officials attending specific events to represent and showcase the industry to Global audiences. The main support mechanism is the Overseas Business Development Visits (OBDV) Grant that supports companies with 50% of the costs of market registration, international travel and accommodation.  The maximum level of grant support is £10,000 per application and companies are able to access up-to 3 OBDV grants per annum.

Additionally, the Welsh Government hosts a series of online webinars and face-to-face seminars designed to develop export skills, capabilities and knowledge and also has a team of International Trade Advisers (ITAs) based in overseas office who work with eligible Welsh businesses on a one-to-one basis, providing bespoke advice, guidance and support to help achieve export related aims and objectives. For indigenous companies that are further into their export journey,  companies can benefit from International Trade Development (ITD) Programme that provides access to specialists with a variety of sector, market and export experience who can work with businesses on a one-to-one basis to provide tailored support and The International Trade Opportunities Programme (ITO) that supports businesses that have already identified their target market(s) and are ready to take the next step and actively look for export opportunities with support that includes identifying and contacting potential partners and arranging face-to-face meetings with interested parties.

In addition to this, Ffilm Cymru Wales and Film Hub Wales both provide support to welsh film and welsh film makers for exhibition.  As mentioned in response to WQ89258, Creative Wales provides financial support to both Ffilm Cymru and Film Hub Wales for the development and promotion of welsh film.
