The Welsh Government does not intend to collect or publish data on diagnostic gastrointestinal endoscopy broken down by reason for referral.
All health boards in Wales have confirmed they provide general practice with access to the faecal calprotectin test. In addition, the NHS Executive is developing a nationally agreed pathway for the investigation of inflammatory bowel disease which will support the consistent local application of this test.
