There is a statutory duty to ensure RSE teaching and learning is developmentally appropriate for every learner, and it must comply with the RSE Code.
The law also requires that RSE teaching be pluralistic as to its content and manner of teaching in the sense that it should not seek to indoctrinate children to a particular view.

The RSE resources which are published on Hwb will be in keeping with these requirements and we recommend schools to use these. However, there is no legal requirement that requires schools and other settings to use only RSE materials published on Hwb.
