The trunk road Active Travel schemes are assessed on an all Wales basis driven by the Local Authority Active Travel Map and the priority the Local Authorities have given to the routes.

The Active Travel Steering Group assesses the programme to ensure active travel schemes are achieving the Welsh Government aims of climate change and model shift. It ensures the right schemes are constructed and as such Llanrwst will be included in this scrutiny and prioritised accordingly along with other schemes identified in Conwy.  These include, A55 Junction 18 RSPB, A470 Glan Conwy to Black Cat, A470 Betws-y-Coed to Llanrwst, A470 South of Glan Conwy and A470 Llanrwst Town Centre.
