Procurement and implementation of the online booking platform is being undertaken by the Welsh Government. The booking platform, including access for schools and local authorities via individual annual licences, will be funded by the Welsh Government for the duration of the four-year contract and will not come from school budgets.
Under local management of schools’ arrangements, headteachers and governing bodies are responsible for recruiting an effective workforce, suitable to the needs of their learners. The platform will enable schools and local authorities to view and collate data on their cover arrangements and manage supply budgets more efficiently. In addition to free access for all users, the Welsh Government is funding training resources for schools, and technical support will be provided where required.
