RSE resources are currently being reviewed on hwb by a specialist group of practitioners and healthy school co-ordinators. These will only be recommended for RSE in the new curriculum if they are consistent with the RSE code and legal requirements.
We work closely with partners to ensure materials accord with legal requirements. School improvement services and local authorities are working with schools to ensure the resources they use are reputable and developmentally appropriate, and they will use these in a way that is sensitive to children’s needs. Estyn also have a critical role in supporting schools. In advance of resources being used in the classroom, we expect schools to share examples of these with parents.
