Our ongoing communications plan to engage key stakeholders was initiated ahead of the introduction of the Bill to Senedd Cymru last September. This included the development awareness raising and communications materials with key stakeholders.
Following the passing of the Bill by the Senedd in December, awareness raising materials were immediately released. Since then, we have started to release the national communication activities, which have included social media content released via Welsh Government and partner channels, including Business Wales. The national campaign activity will continue during the six months before the October target date for the first bans to be in force.
The Welsh Government website has been updated with information regarding the changes in law, giving information to workplaces about how they can prepare for the changes and will continue to be updated.
We are also producing comprehensive guidance that will support implementation of the Bill, which will be published in June. To produce this, officials are working with a range of sectors including businesses, environmental NGOs, protected characteristic groups, local authorities and community groups.
