My officials meet regularly with Cardiff Council to discuss their plans for improvements to transport in Cardiff. This has included discussions on road user charging and alignment with Llwybr Newydd; the Wales Transport Strategy.
I have met with the leader of Cardiff Council to hear how their proposals will support the delivery of improved transport infrastructure and services for people in Cardiff and the surrounding areas, including future phases of Cardiff’s cross-rail project. The work will be based on the learning from other demand management transport schemes which have been implemented across the UK and abroad. It is vital that any scheme is fair, equitable and thoroughly planned to make sure it does not have any unintended consequences or impacts.
