Welsh Government has engaged with the Home Office throughout the period of the Independent Review of Prevent (IRP). As the designated body in Wales for ensuring HEIs’ compliance with the Prevent Duty, HEFCW also engages directly with the Home Office.
Currently, the Home Office is developing its approach to taking forward the IRP recommendations which have been accepted by UKG and Welsh Government is working with them to ensure devolved and non-devolved matters pertinent to Wales are understood. Welsh Government and HEFCW will continue to engage with Home Office colleagues as this work progresses.
