Our National Strategy for Flooding and Coastal Erosion sets out our approach to Flood Risk Management in Wales.

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) and Ceredigion County Council are the Risk Management Authorities responsible for managing flood risk in Talybont. NRW are responsible for managing the risk associated with the main river sections of the Afon Leri, downstream of the A487. Ceredigion County Council are responsible for the upstream ordinary watercourse sections, and the Afon Ceulan.

RMAs are funded to carry out flood alleviation works via the Welsh Government’s Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Programme. This year we are investing over £71m – the highest level of funding ever provided in Wales in a single year. We have published the list of schemes being funded with an accompanying map here and interactive map providing more detail on the schemes included within the programme.
