To deliver our vision of an accessible, sustainable, and efficient public transport system, the transport workforce must be more representative of the communities it serves.
We know that women use transport in a fundamentally different way to men, so it is essential women are equally represented in the sector and involved in designing and working on networks they are more likely to use.
Welsh Government funded research carried out this year by Transport for Wales and Chwarae Teg explored the challenges facing women in transport in Wales and the barriers to them joining the sector.
We have also funded the Wales Women in Transport hub, launched by the Minister for Climate Change in November. The hub will provide a central point for support and professional development for women already working in transport and those considering a career in the sector.
