A refresh of the Economic Contract began earlier this year. The contract has been strengthened with the introduction of development pledges tailored to each business, and the four key pillars have been updated to reflect our key economic, social and environmental priorities. The Welsh Government is in the process of developing a standards framework to ensure consistency in assessing applications against the four pillars. An external evaluation of the Economic Contract, encompassing how effective the policy has been in influencing business behaviour, is scheduled for 2023. It is anticipated the procurement of this tender will be published before the end of this calendar year.
