Welsh Government continues to work closely with Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC) / Welsh Meat Promotion supporting the export of Welsh Lamb into the US market. This includes supporting HCC’s promotional activities to develop the US market for Welsh red meat, such as participation in trade, showcase and other events.
Underpinning this activity is the work Welsh Government is doing to support Welsh farmers in a variety of ways to help them build relationships with businesses in every part of the supply chain, and ensure they have the ability to export their produce around the world.
The Rural Development Programme has funded £9.2m for the Red Meat Development Programme. Hybu Cig Cymru is delivering three strategic projects which aim to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the red meat supply chain.
