Through Sport Wales, our national delivery partner, direct investment to Cricket Wales was £603,000 in the 2021-22 financial year. Grassroots cricket clubs and organisations can also access support through two community investment funds managed by Sport Wales, Be Active Wales and the Crowdfunder scheme. Investment into grassroots cricket through these funds for the 2021-22 financial year was £458,410, supporting 81 applications.
In addition to this support, the Welsh Government also provided Glamorgan Cricket Club during 2020-22 with total funding of £1.710m to support the organisation and grassroots cricket through the pandemic. Local authorities and national organisations, such as Girlguiding Cymru and Urdd Gobaith Cymru, also play a role in delivering grassroots cricket and are financially supported by the Welsh Government and Sport Wales.
