Around 350 teachers, head teachers and teaching assistants are expected to enrol on free Welsh courses with the National Centre for Learning Welsh in 2022-23.

The National Centre’s learning offer is part of a wide choice of courses tailored for the education workforce.  This offer includes self-study courses and the well-established Sabbatical Scheme for school practitioners.

A new digital portal has been developed to support the education workforce to choose the course that best suits their needs.  The portal includes information about the range of fully-funded courses on offer and allows prospective learners to register an interest in their chosen course.

Delivering free Welsh lessons to 18-25 year olds and teaching staff is being carried out in collaboration with Cefin Campbell MS, the Plaid Cymru designated member, as part of the Co-operation Agreement between the Welsh Government and Plaid Cymru.
