In 2019-20, Bike Park Wales near Merthyr Tydfil was awarded £400,000 from our Micro and Small Business Fund towards the creation of three new ‘green trails’ for beginners and families.

In 2021-22, the Dwr Cymru Elan Valley Cycle Hub received £128,000 from our Brilliant Basics scheme, aimed to deliver small scale tourism infrastructure improvements across Wales.

The mountain bike offer is an important part of Wales’s activity and adventure tourism offer and the Welsh Government also invested in cycle trails prior to the past three financial years. Visit Wales also works closely with the Wales Mountain Bike Group, which manages Mountain Bike Wales -Mountain Bike Wales | For mountain bikers visiting Wales (mbwales.com) providing information on all mountain bike centres and trails across Wales for visitors.
