Between 2015-2022 the Welsh Government and WEFO have provided £6.2m funding to Cwmpas to deliver the Social Business Wales Project. The project supports all types of co-operatives, social enterprises, community groups and voluntary organisations across Wales to create co-operative jobs, businesses, and communities by providing responsive, reliable and flexible support.

Cwmpas has worked within urban and rural areas of West Wales which include Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire during this period. It has supported 250 businesses which include start up support, support to grow a business, digital skills, creating secure and affordable homes, and supporting social business to provide quality employment opportunities.

Cwmpas has supported the Mid Wales regions of Powys and Ceredigion to focus on developing the foundational economy through social businesses and employee-owned firms anchored in the area to provide quality employment opportunities. Cwmpas has supported 93 businesses in total including the creation of new social enterprises, their growth, employment and digital support.
