Since November 2022, the Welsh Government has invested more than £380 million to mitigate the impact of the cost-of-living crisis for disadvantaged households.

It is funding a range of support measures, including £152m for a £150 cost-of-living payment for all households in properties in council tax bands A to D and to all households who receive support from our Council Tax Reduction Scheme in all council tax bands.

A further £25m has been made available to local authorities in the form of a discretionary fund. They are targeting this additional funding to help households who are struggling with their living costs.

The funding is also supporting a further Welsh Government Fuel Support Scheme during winter 2022-23. We have extended the eligibility criteria so that more households will receive the £200 payment which offers such crucial support.

It is also supporting the introduction of a national fuel voucher and Heat Fund scheme in Wales which will help households who pre-pay for their fuel and who are at risk of self-disconnection.

A breakdown of cost-of-living support is not available at community and town council level.
