Our dialogue with almost 1,000 stakeholders as part of the development of our new National Framework for Social Prescribing, has re-affirmed our belief that being outside and undertaking nature-based activities can provide multiple benefits to health and wellbeing. Expertise has also been provided directly by members of the National Framework for Social Prescribing Task and Finish Group, including Natural Resource Wales.

Our £5.9m Healthy and Active Fund aims to sustainably increase the physical activity of those who are currently sedentary or have very low levels of activity and improve levels of mental well-being. Several projects funded under this programme involve getting people outdoors, getting them active, and using the assets within their local community. The funding ends in 2023 and there will be a programme evaluation as well as evaluations of each project.
